| ** What will happen while I am there? ** Your therapist will do everything possible to ensure that your experience is positive and rewarding. You may be asked about your reasons for getting a massage, current physical condition, medical history, lifestyle, stress level, areas of pain, and other pertinent topics . You will be instructed that after the therapist leaves the room you are to undress to your comfort level and lie down on the massage table, between the sheets. You may leave your undergarments on or off, at your discretion. You'll lie down on a comfortably padded massage table. Only the part of your body that is being massaged will be undraped, ensuring that your modesty is respected at all times. You should expect a peaceful and comfortable environment for your massage. Report distraction of any kind to your therapist, whether from physical discomfort, room temperature, volume of music, or any other source. **About AMTA therapists** The American Massage Therapy Association, founded in 1943, is the largest and oldest national non-profit organization representing the massage therapy profession.
